i'm still alive, i promise. i'm living in arlington va, working in fairfax for a government consulting firm, and trying to be a big girl. life is complicated, per usual.

i just learned that the ACLU supports/works for/defends that crazy group of homophobes that protest at soldier's funerals saying that the soldier died because his country supports gay marriage.
the ACLU claims that its "client is the bill of rights" and that they have to defend these nut jobs' right to free speech.
oh i am livid.

mmmmhm. finals are done, i'm making good money with this reunion-working thing, and i got to serve lunch to president christ today. and eat what she ate, prepared splendidly by her private chef. who has my dream job. no kidding. in another life.
i dont know if i've announced it here yet or not, but i'm going to be living and working in georgetown (dc) this summer.... working at the mellman group, 31st and K, and living with abby at 33rd and M. if you are in the vicinity, you must come visit, especially around the end of july. much fun will be had.
other news: dana is back in the country. the US just got exponentialy cooler.
i'm back on my tattoo kick. its been over a year since my last 'mod,' as the cool kids say-- i think its time.
i drank a lot of diet coke today.

update:
seminar paper (essentially) done. if its not actually done i'm choosing not to care.
econ exam done. that class is so dead to me.
women's med has been done. and i like it that way.
english exam done. the gnome can, um do something vulgar that gnomes do. and he can forget about me putting effort into my english rewrite because i contend it was good the first time.
theory exam is still lurking in seelye somewhere, waiting to kick my ass. that should be fun. but by 11am tomorrow, or 4pm at the latest, i'm calling this one a wrap.

Semi-study for Theory Exam
Wednesday: English Exam @ 2
Study for Theory Exam
Thursday: Theory Exam @ 2
Finish English Paper, turn in
Friday: Finish Seminar Paper, turn in
Mom arrives
Drink.
So far, so good. Primal scream in an hour and a half, seminar paper almost done, sanity (thus far) intact. Fingers crossed.

in other news: exactly 6 more classes, 30 pages, and 4 finals between me and senior year. w00t.
in my political theory class today, my prof (the estimable gary lehring) showed the 'hips dont lie' video, and the yahoo home-video version, to illustrate some point about neitzche. key quotes: "she couldnt have a better body, and i'm a gay man saying that!" "c'mon, get up and dance [while dancing]" and "no, i'll sign in... [while entering 'garygaryquitecontrary' as his login name to yahoo video]"
quite the morning already.
